Computer networking is very important when it comes to in-house office jobs where the mutual connection of computers constitutes an important part of the whole work. Therefore, networking is an important element in today’s corporate world.
There are many professional technicians who have the to securely install whatever type of network you require. All networking vendors use the highest quality hardware and software to help insure that your network is trouble free so that you don’t have to worry about it. They also troubleshoot and maintain existing networks in homes and offices.
Most technicians are friendly, professional and qualified and will do everything in their power to make servicing your computer or network a positive experience. This means speaking in non-technical, easy-to-understand terms and explaining exactly what’s wrong, what your options are and what the estimated costs are. Computer network vendors and repairers provide support for all network platforms.
Of course, security should be your main concern. It should always be your number one priority when it comes to choosing a company to do your computer network repair. They should be fluent in all security program-related language, and should be able to communicate it in lay terms when needed. That way, you can work with them to decide what is the most efficient and least expensive route to take. However, do not skimp on this investment, for such skimping could hypothetically cost you your entire business in the long run.

February 4th, 2010
If you want to build a personal network, planning ahead can save both money and time especially if you ever know you will grow your local area network in the distant future.
The whole point of coming up with a plan is to realize what you actually need to put in your network, after all there are many more things available than just having computers that connect to the internet.
This includes WiFi, cables, or even both
Although you might be only using wired connections, will you be able to use WiFi in the future?
Almost everyone at some point, and the difference in prices between a wired router and wireless router is small, and just about every wireless router still have a wired ethernet hub built into them meaning we can still connect both wired and wireless devices.
The whole point most people want a home network setup is to share an internet connection, in this case it’s imperative the security and the router has the latest firmware, this includes Wireless Security, Router Security & each computer must have a firewall, anti-spyware and a firewall.
Long gone are the days of having to share your hard drive or have a special computer, network attached hard drives are easy to setup and they typically have space from 500gb to 2tb. Some even have a wireless option.
The speed of a network can be a major factor if you send big files, truth be told a cabled network will always be faster than wireless, as a rule of thumb use cabled where possible and wifi where you have to, i.e laptops.
One of the big mistakes made when many of us are setting up a home network in the house is thinking about future expansions to the network, spending a little less today will only mean you spend more down the road, work within your budget but be realistic, setup the network that suits your needs and and budget.

Tackling Computer Worms That Reside on Your Network
January 2nd, 2010
Now if you have noticed your computer slowing down with some really mean things happening when you are trying to work its possible that you have been hit by computer worms. Almost every second computer in the world is infected with a computer virus worm. Many people don’t even know that they are infected till its two late.
You need to understand exactly what performance issues your computer has in order to determine that you do indeed have computer worms on your system. Many people seem to think that computer virus worms and other viruses are one in the same thing when in fact they are not. Many people even those who are pretty good at understanding computers are confused and find it hard to tell the difference when their system has been hit.
Computer worms and viruses are similar in a number of ways but they are also different. Their infection is different and they cause different problems. A computer worm is a program that is self replicating, and self propagating which is designed in a way to harm your and well as other’s computers on a network.
Now what self replicating means is that the program makes many copies of itself and then send themselves though the computer network to computers which are not protected.
Computer worms have the ability to work on their own and they don’t have to be linked to a particular program. A virus too is self replicating which is a similar characteristic to a computer worm. The difference is that a virus needs to be attached to a program or software or even a file in order for it to go live. On the other hand computer worms can spread on their own and don’t need to be associated with a program.
One of the biggest problems that computer worms cause is they wreak havoc with a computer network. Now because they are pretty much self propagating they spread like wild fire as they are able to find and get into unprotected computers on a network. They search for holes and get into a computer via that hole. So as a rule of thumb the more safe your network is the better protected you are from computer worms.
Viruses tend to get into files and corrupt them. They also infiltrate into computers posing as harmless files that when executed go live. This is why many people advise that you scan your email before you open them and never executive an Exe file without knowing who the sender is and what the program is supposed to do.
Now one of the best ways to prevent your computer getting infected by a worm is to protect your network. Get a good firewall software which will help you hold back programs that try to get in. You should also install a good anti virus program on your system that is regularly updated and which also can scan for computer worms as well as viruses.
The more you understand what these things are the better you can protect and defend yourself. So make sure that you use a good program and everything should be ok.
